Abstract

305,914. Wineberg, B. Sept. 22, 1928. Card and like cases. -Relates to cases or frames for holding and displaying cards &c. of the kind having a spring backing-plate for pressing forwards a number of cards against the front frame, and having an entrance at one end for insertion and withdrawal of the the cards. In order to facilitate the removal of the cards from the top to the bottom of the pile, the backing-plate 4<a>, Fig. 4, is provided with a lead-in or downturned edge 7 to serve as a guide for the insertion of the cards. The backing-plate may be formed with a channel 9 to engage the end of the spring 5<a> and prevent withdrawal of the plate, or a flange 8, Fig. 9, may be formed on the case, so as to engage the end of the spring 5d for the same purpose. The backing-plate may have coil springs instead of a blade spring, or the spring may be formed by displacement from the back of the case. The case back may be divided lengthwise, so as to form inclined blades 6<e>, Fig. 8, serving as springs.
