Abstract

271,300. White, A. E., (Amberg File & Index Co.). Aug. 26, 1926. Tabs. - An index card 4 is formed with an integral projecting tab 5 reinforced by a sheet-metal or other plate 8 which serves to hold a removable indicating slip. The plate 8, which is secured to the card 4 by eyelets 11 at its lower edge and by bending its upper edge 9 over the edge of the card, is provided with a stamped-up part 12 cut away at 13 to hold ani expose to view the indicating slip, and the part 12 extends over the main portion of the card so as to decrease the projecting part and thus lessen the risk of damage. A celluloid strip 15 may be. inserted in the plate 8 in front of the indicating strip, and the two strips are held in position by tongues 16 struck-up from the part 12 of the plate. The lower edge of the card also has a projecting tab 6 having an eyeleted perforation 7 for filing on the rod of a cabinet. Specification 3108/12 is referred to.
