376,248. Ventilating shaft tops. CHANARD, A., 280, Avenue de Paris, Rueil, Seine-et-Oise, France. Feb. 5, 1931, No. 3661. Convention date, Feb. 11, 1930. [Class 25.] An outlet ventilator, more particularly of large dimensions, comprises a shaft having outwardly converging nozzles b around the whole of its periphery, the nozzles being long in relation to the peripheral distance separating adjacent nozzles and having the communication with the shaft unobstructed by baffles, and a single screen g curved to the form of an arc in front of each nozzle, the edges h of the screens lying substantially in the plane of the outlet ends of the nozzles, while the walls of the screens form with the corresponding walls of the nozzles inwardly converging passages. also unobstructed by baffles, the angle between the tangential planes at the edges of the screens and the corresponding walls of the nozzles being about 30‹. The screens are secured to the nozzles by means of lugs i or flat bars j. The ventilator is formed with a slightly domed cover c.
