Abstract

376,004. Protecting pipes or tubes. WELLINGTON TUBE WORKS. Ltd. and WHITE, J. T., Great Bridge, Tipton, Stafford. shire. July 1, 1931, No. 18952. [Class 94 (i).] A device for protecting the threaded ends of pipes or tubes comprises a cup-like member 3 entirely closed at one end 4 formed of metal or synthetic resin, the circumferential wall being concentrically arranged so that the cap may be pushed over the screw-thread 2 of the pipe. The wall may be punched inwardly at 7, Fig. 4, and the cap screwed upon the thread, or the punching may take place after the cap is in position. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the cap 11 is formed as a truncated cone to fit a tapering thread 10.
