Abstract
<PICT:0375925/IV/1> Vats 1 for dyeing textile materials, particularly cotton, in bundles wherein the material is compressed between the bottom and cover of the vat while the dye bath is forced under pressure therethrough, comprise at the bottom of the vat a projecting rim 7 parallel to and disposed at a small distance from the side walls so as to form therewith a gutter 8 in which the material becomes tightly packed, thus preventing the dye from flowing too freely along the walls to the outlets 11 through which the dye escapes. The rim 7 may be provided with an auxiliary rim 9 enclosing a space within which wire gauze 3 rests on further rims 10. The cover of the vat is similar to the bottom, the dye-bath being forced through in both directions alternately. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 12358/87, [Class 15, Bleaching &c.].
