Abstract
375,619. Feeding-devices for granular &c. materials. POTTS, H. E., 12, Church Street, Liverpool.-(Badische Maschinenfabrik & Eisengiesserei vorm. G. Sebold und Sebold & Neff; 3, Seboldstrasse, Durlach, Baden, Germany.) Sept. 12, 1931, No. 25617. [Class 59.] Used foundry sand in a bin a is transferred to a conveyer band b by a rotary scraper or disc valve d which is traversed to and fro along the long side of the bin. The scraper is driven by an electric motor f, Fig. 2, through bevel gears e, shaft g, toothed gears h<1>, h,<11> and a friction coupling u to avoid damage. This device is mounted on a carriage which is driven from the same motor f through reversing bevels k, k<1>, clutch x, feathered to slide on a shaft y, and chain gearing l .. o. The position of the clutch is reversed at each end of the travel by a lever q engaging a fixed stop. The scraper shaft i is carried in bearings i<1> which can be adjusted about the axis g by a screwed spindle s and hand-wheel t, Fig. 1, to vary the depth of engagement of the scraper in the sand.
