Abstract
374,490. Coiling dough. MASON, J. V., 10, Windsor Grove, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. March 9, 1931, No. 7217. [Class 87 (ii).] A dough moulding machine of the type in which pieces of dough are fed by a travelling band to a revolving spindle on which they are wound, the spindle being then withdrawn, has the spindle reciprocated by a double-track constantly - rotating cam, is provided with a hopper from which the dough is released at intervals by bars reciprocated from the cam, and has a spring or weight controlled plate operating in conjunction with the travelling band to cause the dough to move forward when the spindle is withdrawn. The spindle F is reciprocated by a pivoted lever E which bears by rollers E<1>, E<2> on the cam faces N, O of the wheel C which is driven from the pulley wheel B and also drives the belt C<3> and the spindle F through the spur pinion 2. The two bars H, H<1> closing the bottom of the hopper J are reciprocated in time with the spindle F by the rod G. A pressure board K is adjustably supported by screws T and carries a spring-controlled lever L terminating in a plate V which co-operates with a similar plate M to press on the dough whilst it is being wound. The spindle F may be withdrawn at either end by slacking off the collars 3, 4 and removing the plug 8.
