Abstract
563,925. Embossing machines. KAY & CO., Ltd., S., and KAY, F. May 20, 1943, No. 7987. [Class 100 (ii)] A machine for stamping, markings on leather heels or soles comprises means for passing the articles in succession from an adjustable magazine between embossing rollers A<1>, A<2> by means of a reciprocating pusher d which is attached to a slide E operated by a cam F. The roller A<1> is fitted with changeable dies C which are held in place by means of screw clamps, and the rollers are mounted in adjustable bearings b<1>, b<2>, the upper bearing being loaded by springs or similar means. The rollers A<1>, A<2> are geared to a shaft A which also drives by chain gearing g and bevel gears g<1>, g<2> the cam F which is mounted in a carriage H adjustable longitudinally of the machine by means of a screw H<1>. The chain g passes under a wheel g<3> mounted in the carriage H and around a wheel G<2> adjustably mounted in the machine frame. The carriage H is formed with an inclined front end h<1> which assists to maintain the pile of articles in place in the magazine which has sides adjustable for articles of different widths by means of a screw with threads of opposite hand. A counting-device operated by the finished articles may be provided.
