E. ; 46, Nassau Boulevard, Lynbrook, Long Island, New York, both in U.S.A.) April 16, 1931, No. 11328. Convention date, April 17, 1930. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i).] Colour blending is obtained by employing a plurality of luminescent gas discharge tubes containing neon, mercury vapour, &c., in each of which the current density is varied by means of a variable rotating shunt disposed between the cores of the primary and secondary windings of the transformer. The electrodes of the tubes are preferably provided with electron emitting substances, e.g. potassium or barium oxides. Different coloured glass envelopes are employed in the colour blending.
