Abstract
373,313. Automatic clockwork winding mechanism. HASLER AKT.-GES. VORM. TELEGRAPHEN-WERKSTTTE VON G. HASLER, 50, Schwarztorstrasse, Berne, Switzerland. March 7, 1931, No. 7145. Convention date, March 15, 1930. [Class 139.] Clockwork mechanism for periodic counter type speedometers comprises a winding spindle 1 having loosely mounted on it a gear wheel 4, driven from the shaft the speed of which is required and carrying a star wheel 5, and also having loosely mounted on it a spring barrel 2, one end of the spring being connected to the barrel and the other end to the spindle 1. The spring barrel 2 has fixed to it the gear wheel 3 which drives the time spindle of the clockwork mechanism. The winding spindle has fixed to it a ratchet wheel 7 prevented from reverse rotation and having pivoted to it by a pin 6 an anchor 8. The anchor 8 with the extension 8a and tooth 8b is controlled by a two-armed release lever 10 provided with an inwardly projecting tooth 11 and mounted at 9 on the ratchet wheel 7. One end of a spring 10<2> secured to the ratchet wheel 7 presses the release lever into the path of the tooth 8b. The inner end position of the release lever is limited bv a pin 13 which it carries and which passes with a certain amount of clearance through a hole 14 of the ratchet wheel 7 and engages with a lever 15 which is also mounted on the ratchet wheel 7 on its other face at 9 and is controlled by a locking pawl 16 mounted at 161 on the ratchet wheel. The other end of the spring 10<1> presses inwardly a pin 17 of the pawl 16 which passes through the ratchet wheel and keeps the free offset end of the pawl 16 within reach of a projection 21 provided on a cam disc 20 secured to the spring barrel. The lever 15 has a projection 15<1> that also projects within reach of the cam 21. The mechanism causes a definite and small mean tension of the main spring, to give a uniform driving force to the clockwork mechanism.
