Abstract

373,078. Ventilating storage sheds ; ventilators. BARTEN, H., Reddelich, Mecklenburg, Germany. Dec. 14, 1931, No. 34609. [Class 137.] In a storage shed for vegetables and the like the walls are provided with channels 7, 12 for the controlled admission and discharge respectively of air, and the roof is hollow and provided at the ridge with air outlets comprising shafts 13 and covered apertures 17, the hollow spaces 5 of the roof being in communication with the apertures and with air inlets 12a situated under the eaves, and being provided with layers of peat dust 6. The walls 1 are heat insulated as by air spaces 2 and the air channels 7, 12 are provided with wire mesh filters 8 and regulators 9. The outlet shafts 13 are constructed with hollow walls insulated with peat dust or other material and are .provided with regulating dampers 14. Covers 16 are provided over the outlet apertures 17, raised edges 18 at the sides of the apertures serving to prevent the entry of rain or snow.
