373,077. Screw-and-nut and cam gearing for conveying rotary motion. KUBA, F., 19, Bechardgasse, Vienna. Dec. 8, 1931, No. 34008. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1930. [Class 80 (iii).] For conveying rotation at reduced speed, an annular nut 4 screwed internally and externally with different pitches to engage a central driving shaft 2 and an outer stationary casing 1 slides axially on bars 5 in a driven cage 6, 7. The rotation of the cage is limited by the travel of the nut 4, but, in a modification, continuous rotation is obtainable by providing the shaft and casing with right-and-left-hand reversing grooves engaged by pins on the member 4, which then continuously reciprocates during the drive.
