Abstract
372,743. Pulley blocks. SAUNDERS, F. B., 351, Salisbury Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Jan. 26, 1931, No. 2512. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1930. [Class 78 (v).] A pulley block 68 for use golf practising apparatus is attached to a fixed framework and comprises brackets 77 carrying pivots 78, 79, and fixed pivots 82 between adjacent pulleys. The pivots 78 are similar to the pivot 43 shown in Fig.3 which is formed on the end of a screw 46 which has threaded engagement with a supporting bracket 47, and locking nut 48 holding the pivot 43 in adjusted positions. The pivots 79 are similar to the pivot 44 shown in Fig. 3 which is provided with a cylindrical body portion slidably received in a bearing 49 in the bracket 51, a pin 52 being mounted on the body of the pivot 44 and operating in a longitudinal slot 53 in the bearing 49 for limiting longitudinal movement of the pivot 44. The outer end of the bearing. 49 is closed by a thumbscrew 54 which has threaded engagement with one end of the bearing and which is adapted to serve as a seat for one end of a coil spring 56 which tends normally to urge the pivot 44 into engagement with the shaft 42 but which is yieldable to permit ready removal, of this shaft from its bearings.
