Abstract

410,027. Bearings. SKEFKO BALL BEARING CO., Ltd., Skefko Road, Leagrave Road, Luton. Nov. 20, 1933. Nos. 32302 and 32303. Convention dates, Nov. 19, 1932 and Dec. 27, 1932. [Class 12 (i).] A mounting for belt pulleys &c. particularly applicable to belt tensioning pulleys comprises a roller bearing d for the pulley spindle c maintained in the plane of stress by a sleeve h which also provides a secondary bearing i and endwise abutment o for the spindle. The sleeve is secured to a support a by a nut k and is filled with lubricant which is forced into the bearings by a screw cap r. A thrust collar q is provided in the spindle c. In amodification, Fig. 3, a ball bearing u pressed axially against a stop v by a spring y replaces the secondary bearing and endwise abutment. A plate n excludes dust from the bearing.
