372,609. Paper - folding machines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Wood Newspaper Machinery Corporation ; 501, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) June 29, 1931, No. 18783. [Class 100 (ii).] The impaling-pins 15 of a folding-cylinder 10 are mounted so as to be capable of a slight movement rearwardly of the direction of rotation of the cylinder when the sheets carried thereby are being tucked between the folding- rollers 22. Guides 16 pivoted at 17 carry the ping 15 which are withdrawn at the desired times by arms 13 engaging slots 14 in the pins and mounted on shafts 12 cam-operated in the usual way. In one form, springs 18 interposed between the guides 16 and fixed parts of the cylinder 10 permit the pins 15 to yield when the sheets are being drawn into the rollers 22, 22, and in a modification the shaft 17 is positively operated by an arm thereon engaging a cam-groove on the cylinder 10.
