Abstract

372,125. Distributing music &c. HOLDING INTERNATIONALE LUXEMBOURG, 33, Boulevard Royal, Luxembourg. June 5, 1931, No. 16416. Convention date, June 7, 1930. [Class 40 (iv).] The time for which a subscriber remains connected to a programme circuit coupled to a microphone, wireless receiver, &c. is controlled by clockwork mechanism. Preferably there are associated with the programme circuit pilot lamps and an electric meter to indicate to the speaker how many subscribers are using it and a telephone receiver to enable the quality and volume of the transmission to be supervised. As shown, the operator (e.g. an exchange operator) connects the calling line to the wires 3, 4 and operates her ringing key to energize 12<1> which locks temporarily in series with 15 which energizes a common meter 20. 12<1> energizes a relay 25 which unlocks 12<1>, connects the circuit 3, 4 to the transformer 8 coupled to the programme circuit and in conjunction with a clockwork controlled relay 23 which is energized in series with 25 lights a pilot lamp 30 and so varies the current through a meter 41 graduated in subscribers. After a predetermined time, the clockwork relay drops its armature releasing 25 which disconnects the wires 3, 4 from the transformer. The microphone 10 is coupled to the amplifier feeding the programme circuit by means of a diode valve 31.
