Abstract
370,599. Hardening. KLOPP, F., 21, Itterbergerstrasse, Wald, Solingen, Germany. March 9, 1931, No. 7273. Convention date, March 7, 1930. [Class 72.] In an apparatus for hardening the surfaces of cylindrical bodies, the bodies u are placed on a shoot s and roll down on to the front ends of fluted revolving shafts l where they are moved by a piston o between autogenous burners t which heat them all round. On the next stroke of the piston the body u which has been heated is pushed into the hardening liquid below. The rollers l are driven by gearing h, m, n from the main shaft c and the piston by an eccentric disc r on a shaft e driven from the shaft c, the disc r bearing against a roller p on the end of the piston o. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the shafts l may be mounted so that they can move away from one another so that the bodies u may drop into the hardening liquid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
