350,910. Moulding dough &c. by rolling - machines. ENERGEN FOODS CO., Ltd., Energen Works, Willesden, and SUTTON, G. J., 14, Victoria Street, both in London. March 15, 1930, No. 8355. [Class 87 (ii).] Dough and other plastic substances are rolled and stretched into elongated forms by a cylindrical drum 13, Fig. 5, driven by worm gearing and co-operating with a member composed of arcuate elements 17, 18, 19 forming a channel whose depth diminishes progressively in a peripheral direction. The arcuate elements have end flanges seating in grooves 20, Fig. 4, and are clamped by screws 26 mounted in bridge members 22. The drum has a series of longitudinal grooves and the arcuate elements are provided with ribs of chevron form to stretch the dough &c. in an axial direction, the angle between the ribs increasing progressively from the inlet to the discharge end to correspond with the reduction in cross section of the dough &c. The dough lumps are fed along a table 32, Fig. 1, and into the machine by way of a shoot 30, 31 and are discharged from a shoot 41. The shoot 31 is carried by a shield 35 pivoted at 36 and adapted to be lifted by a handle 40.
