[Class 59.] In a mechanical stoker in which the conveyer conduit is provided with a crushing device as described in the parent Specification, the conveyer is provided in the vicinity of the crushing plates 25, 26, 27 with an additional helical vane 32 arranged between the convolutions of the main vane 31 of the conveyer and having a smaller radius for manipulating lumps of fuel and presenting them to the crushing device.
