Abstract

In the manufacture of fertilizers containing ammonium nitrate a fused mass of ammonium nitrate, the melting-point of which has been lowered by the addition of salts such as sodium nitrate, is employed. 3 to 35 per cent of such salts may be added. The fused mass free from water may be obtained by the evaporation of a mixed aqueous solution of the salts. Additional substances such as calcium carbonate or phosphate may be introduced into the fused mass.ALSO:In the manufacture of fertilizers containing ammonium nitrate a fused mass of ammonium nitrate, the melting point of which has been lowered by the addition of salts such as sodium nitrate, is employed. 3 to 35 per cent of such salts may be added. The fused mass, free from water, may be obtained by the evaporation of a mixed aqueous solution of the salts.
