Abstract

369,356. Winding linoleum &c. BRODIE, R. B., Sinclairtown Foundry, and ALISON, A. F., Dunvegan, Laidy Nairn Avenue, both in Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire. Feb. 25, 1931, No. 5866. [Class 42 (ii).] In a machine for rolling linoleum &c. round a core h2 and having two fixed rollers b, b<1> and a movable one c, the linoleum is guided round the core at the commencement of the winding by a fixed guide f between the fixed rollers b, b<1>, and guides f<1> , f<2> carried on arms pivoted on the axes of the rollers b<1>, c, these latter guides being moved clear of the linoleum &c. as the winding proceeds. As shown in Fig. 4, the arms carrying the guides f<1>, f<2> are connected by link work and also to a shaft e<1> fitted with a hand-lever for lifting the roller c, while in Fig. 10, only the arm carrying the guide n is shown connected to the shaft e<1>, the guide being controlled by an adjustable cam m<1> fixed on the machine frame. As shown in Fig. 15, the guide t is fixed to pivoted arms p carrying the top roller c while the guide r pivots round the axis of the roller b<1> and is connected to the arms p by links &c. p<4>, p<7>.
