[Class 37.] In a method of making a rotary coil for electric measuring instruments, fine lacquered wire is coated with adhesive and wound on a riveted rectangular frame of sheet aluminium on a former, the coil and frame being subsequently pressed on a core by press members so as to give them a curvilinear form. The press members on the short sides of the coil have recesses through which axle bearings are pressed on to the coil which is previously covered with a strip of paper impregnated with adhesive. The riveted frame constitutes a damper or, if not riveted, it may be removed after the pressing operation. Copper strips forming flexible end connections may also be pressed on to the coil and soldered to the ends of the lacquered wire coil.
