Abstract
368,897. Desks. ANGUS & CO., Ltd., W. and NICHOLS, C. J., 44, Paul Street, Finsbury, London. Jan. 7, 1931, No. 626. [Class 52 (iii).] In a convertible desk-table, a platform 14 for a typewriter &c. can be raised to the working position shown, for example, on inclined slides 13, and the table top comprises two sections 23, 24 hinged together, the rear section being pivoted to the main structure so that when lifted to give access to raise the platform 14, the front section 23 is retained in the horizontal position to form a shelf. The bars 26 supporting the shelf are formed at their lower ends to engage with brackets 30 on the platform 14 to lock it and the shelf. A cross-bar 33 serves as a buffer when lowering the platform 14. A board 34 with struts 37 and ledge 36 serves as front closure for the typewriter &c. when in the closed position, and can be fitted as shown in dotted lines behind the platform 14 when raised, or can be secured by brackets 39 to the front of the top section 23 as shown, as a reading rack, or to the side of the desk as a shelf.
