368,728. Embryotomes. REETZ, G., Ebstorf, Uelzen, Hanover, Germany. Nov. 25, 1930, No. 35442. Convention date, Aug. 6. [Class 81 (ii).] An embryotome of the flexible saw type is provided with movable guides for the saw consisting of adjustable or self-adjusting pulleys. The device comprises a handle 1 with grips 2, a tube 3 extending from the handle and carrying a rod 4 on which is adjustably mounted a head 6, having several bores therein, and the flexible saw 20. The saw is manipulated by handles 24, 25 and passes round pulleys 16, 17 mounted on pins 11, 12 rotatably housed in the head 6. Auxiliary pulleys 27, 28 are provided for use as saw guides when special operations are to be conducted, the pivots 29, 30 being mounted on a bar 31 and also having engagement with optionally selected holes 38. A pivoted spur 33 for positioning the saw relatively to the embryo and spring bows 22 for holding open the genital passage are provided.
