Abstract

368,024. Theft alarms. ALLEN, S. V., Marston Vicarage, near Stafford, and FORD, H., Lightbounds, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Feb. 3, 1931, No. 3441. [Class 118 (i).] A whistle operated by the exhaust of a motor vehicle is sounded when unauthorized use is made of the vehicle. The alarm device comprises a housing A inserted in the exhaust pipe F between the engine and the silencer and fitted with a rotary valve G having a bore H normally connecting the two parts of the exhaust pipe. By unlocking a bolt Q, the valve G may be turned through 90� and locked in that position, so that the exhaust is conducted through a byepass J in the valve to a whistle L.
