[Class 94 (i).] Cigarettes from a hopper divided into two portions A, B are delivered to the upper ends of passages 18 the lower portions of which extend towards each other in horizontal alignment and when each passage has contributed half or substantially half of a row of cigarettes, a reciprocating ejector delivers the cigarettes simultaneously. Rollers carrying pinions 11 are oscillated in the hopper by racks 13 and an oscillating bell-crank lever 15 to feed the cigarettes to the passages 18 down which they roll to and along the horizontal portion thereof, stops secured to the upper and lower walls and one partition of the passages bringing them to rest in front of the ejector. The stops of the middle and lower rows, containing seven cigarettes, are off-set from the stop of the upper row containing six only. The ejector comprises plates spaced vertically and of a width corresponding to a row of cigarettes. Hinged transparent plates covering the passages are removable to provide access thereto.
