Abstract
367,257. Driving- arrangements for spinning, twisting, and doubling frames. KEYSER, J. J., 3, Schlossplatz, Aarau, Switzerland. May 19, 1931, No. 14758. Convention date, May 20, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] In spinning, twisting, and doubling frames wherein the spindles are driven by helical gears a vertical shaft 10, driven by a motor 18 arranged vertically, as shown, or horizontally on the top of the framework 3, drives the roller gear 21 by a worm 23, the spindle-driving shaft 5 by a gear 9 through an intermediate wheel 8, and the lifting gear 29 through change wheels 31, 32 from the wheel 8. The worm 23 drives geared wheels 24, 25, which are mounted on hollow shafts into either of which the trunnion of a change wheel 27 may be inserted so as to maintain the direction of rotation of the :roller gear 21 when the direction of rotation of the spindles is reversed. The gear 9 may, as shown, be of such length that the wheel 8 remains in mesh during the whole of the lift, or it may be of normal length and be splined on the shaft 10. The whole of the gearing is mounted within the framework.
