[Class 44.] Fastenings for garments comprise a staple-shaped element a with two limbs b<1> having bulbous extremities a<1> which engage in suitable apertures of a snap fastener device formed by a spring c held in a casing b by means of a flange b<2> thereof. If desired, two small springs may be used, and the spring or springs may be slightly bent outwards where the extremities of the staple a are to pass through. The limbs of the staple a pierce the material of the garment, and the fastener being then locked may serve for the reception of a hook. Thus half-length waterproof trouser legs may be held in position by means of hooks engaging fasteners of the kind described above fixed on the ordinary trouser seams.
