[Class 81 (ii).] A castrating tool for bloodless castration comprises a head portion having two depressions with a projection between them, and crusher members disposed d and adapted to be forced into said depressions on actuation of lever or like means. The headpiece 1, having two depressions 2, has a hinged block 3 secured thereto at 5, a spring 6 being so arranged as to ensure that the block springs in or out of position as desired. The block 3 is slotted to receive slidable crushers 9 having slots for securing pins 11. The rounded corners 12 of the crushers engage slots 13 in the head 1 and prevent the cords slipping round the insides. A spring 15 presses the centre of the bag and forces the cords into the depressions 2. A spring catch 17 holds the parts 1, 3 in closed position. Lever springs 18 are pivotally secured to the head 1 and to hand-levers 20 by bolts 19, 21 respectively, stops 22 being provided. The inner ends 24 of the hand-levers 20 engage semicircular depressions 25 in the crushers 9 which are forced into the depressions 2 on bringing the handlevers together. One of the pins 11 and crushers 9 may be removable, so that one testicle only may be treated.
