Abstract
366,256. Hot water circulating systems. COUZENS, E. A., 105, Aston Road, Birmingham. Jan. 16, 1931, No. 1488. [Class 64 (ii).] In a hot water circulating system of the type wherein there is a primary circuit 1, 3, 5, 4, in which water is heated under pressure and is caused to transfer its heat in the exchanger 5 to water circulating at substantially atmospheric pressure in a secondary circuit 5, 6, 7, the primary circuit is electrically heated as at 11 and has a closed expansion vessel 8 communicating with the storage vessel 1. The heater 11 is controlled by a thermostat 29 and a pressure gauge 30, both acting through a relay 13. A pressure gauge 31 on the closed expansion chamber 8 may actuate an air compressor 10 to maintain the pressure constant. The rate of flow in the primary circuit is controlled by a valve 32 actuated by thermostats 33, 34 situated in the air space to be heated and on the outgoing side of the secondary circuit respectively. Make up for the secondary circuit is supplied by a tank 22.
