365,988. Moulding brake &c. linings. KATTWINKEL, H., 28, Meissnerstrasse, Coswig, Dresden, Germany. Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23540. [Class 87 (ii).] Friction c o v e r - ings, e.g. for brakes, are made by impregnating a fibrous material in strip form, the strip having a width several times as great as that of the finished product. The strip, after impregnation, is hardened by heat and pressure and simultaneously shaped and subdivided as by dies 1, 3 fitted with knives 2, 4 in order to produce pieces of the required width. The knives may be detachable and the subdivision of the strip may be effected by bladed rollers.
