391,586. Pulleys and drums. BALDAUF, G., 5, Seestrasse, Munich, Germany. March 18, 1932, No. 8150. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1931. [Class 80 (i).] Facings for rollers, drums, pulleys, &c. are made of pressed cork cut so that the working face of the cork is at an acute angle alpha of not less than 10‹ and not greater than 50‹ to the direction of compression A of the cork. Strips K are cut from a block 1, their widths being inclined at an angle between 10‹-50‹ to the direction A. The strips are wound on mandrels in displaced spirals and pasted together, the facings so formed then being heated to approximately 180‹ C. in tightfitting moulds. Intermediate layers of paper, metal, or woven material may be used. A good practical working angle lies between 15‹-30‹.
