Abstract
379,240. Facings for pulleys. BALDAUF, G., 5, Seestrasse, Munich, Germany. March 18, 1932, No. 8149. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1931. [Class 80 (i).] Tubular facings for rollers, drums, pulleys, &c., are composed of two or more layers of cork strips wound in displaced spirals. The facing shown in the Figure consists of three layers of cork strip 1 cemented one on top of the other. The facing is first formed on a mandrel and then heated to 180‹ C. in a close-fitting mould. Under layers of other materials such as cardboard, metal tape, spun and woven material may be used. The rollers may be provided with longitudinal grooves or with a finely pitched thread to secure their facings.
