Abstract

365,848. Book covers. SCHADE, F. S., Holyoke, Massachusetts, U.S.A. March 3, 1931, No. 6546. [Classes 16 and 146 (i).] A book cover is provided at its edges with a channelled strip 3 which is secured, under tension by means of metal clips 6 which embrace the end portions of the strip and are secured to the cover. The channelled strip 3 may be of rubber or felt, and its side lips 5 may be secured to the cover by cement. Hinge-eyes 8 may be formed at the outer ends of the clips, and similar eyes on the sheetholding structure of the book may be aligned therewith to receive a hinge-pin. The clips 6 are secured to the cover by rivets 7. The book covers are made of a material having a hard surface such as compressed wood pulp or cellulose.
