365,305. Crown corks & c . McLAURIN, R. A., 4, Kirklea Quadrant, Kelvinside, Glasgow. Jan. 7, 1931, No. 565. Drawings to Specification. [Class 125 (iii).] In the manufacture of crown corks &c., a little adhesive, which may be a resin or gum dissolved in a suitable solvent, is applied to the metal cap, either before or after punching, and then dried ; a natural cork washer being then inserted and caused to adhere to the cap by combined heat and pressure, the heat being just sufficient to render the adhesive tacky. Preferably, the cap is pretreated, either before or after punching, with varnish by spraying &c. before the adhesive is applied.
