Abstract

<PICT:0365290/III/1> Hydraulic binding agents and mixtures intended for mortar or concrete are deaerated by causing them to pass in a jet or thin stream into the interior of a receptacle where a vacuum exists, the division of the mixture into a thin layer being aided by simultaneous vibration or centrifugal action. As shown in the Figure, cones g, g<1> are mounted to form baffles or spreading devices on which the mixture is spread before falling from the hopper a into the vacuum receptacle b. A vacuum may be formed in both the hopper and receptacle. Other forms illustrated show the use of a perforated plate, a single cone and a rotating disc as spreading devices. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3)(a) comprises also the use of the process in connection with bituminous products. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
