365,012. Fireproofing. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT. - GES., Frankfort-on- Main, Germany. July 10, 1931, No. 19899. Convention date, July 10, 1930. [Class 140.] A fireproofing agent for wood, paper, and textiles comprises an ammonium halide, for example ammonium chloride or bromide, a salt of an aromatic sulphonic acid benzylated in the nucleus, for example sodium benzylnaphthalenesulphonate, and boric acid or phosphorous acid or a water-soluble borate or phosphite, for example borax and ammonium borate. Magnesium or calcium chlorides and fungicides such as sodium cresolate, sodium fluoride, potassium dinitrocresolate, salicylic acid and magnesium trichlorphenolate may be used. Specification 326,253, [Class 140, Waterproof &c. fabrics], is referred to.
