Abstract
364,893. V i s i b l e card indexes. THIEME, (nÚe OVERHOFF), E., 13, Sch³tzenstrasse, Schwertz, Ruhr, Germany. Feb. 12, 1931, No. 4456. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1930. [Class 146 (i).] In a visible card index in which each card 2 has a folded-over flap 3 secured by fasteners 4 and the folded parts of the cards nest within one another, the assembled cards are arranged on a cardboard carrier 1 having a folded-over end 12 which grips the folded edge of the uppermost card and a member 15 which lies within the fold of the lowermost card, a bar 7 being threaded through slots 6 in the folds 5 of the cards. The bar 7 is slidably mounted on the carrier 1 by the engagement of slots 8, 11 therein with rivets 9, 10 on the carrier and it is normally held in the working position by the engagement of a leaf-spring on the carrier with the turned-up end 16 of the bar. A closing flap 14 may be hinged to the end 12. Side guides 18 may be provided on the carrier 1, for example, by folding the edges of the carrier inwardly, and the points of the cards adjacent thereto cut away adjacent to the folds 5 so as to engage between them. The member 15 may be hinged to the carrier 1 or slidably mounted thereon.
