S., Pant-yr- Eos, Dalton Magna, near Rotherham, and LARMUTH, E., 94, Brincliffe Edge Road, Nether Edge, Sheffield. Nov. 29, 1930, No. 36052. [Class 104 (ii).] In a railway sleeper, chair, or tieplate a, a portion c of the plate is folded back more than 90‹ to form a support for the rail. A portion of the fold is in contact with the base at d and is welded thereto along the edges. The support may be strengthened by flanges &c. m. Both sides of the rail may be supported in this way, or one side may be fastened by ordinary clips. The base of the plate, may be shaped to fit the rail or it may have a wedge surface to incline the rail.
