Abstract

364,481. Cables. SOC. ITALIANA PIRELLI, 21, Via Fabio Filzi, Milan, Italy. May 5, 1931, No. 13317. Convention date, July 25, 1930. [Classes 36 and 38 (i).] A cable end 1 for a high tensior electric cable is formed with reconstructed insulation 2 of paper or cloth wound in trumpet shape from the lead sheath 3 of the cable. A binding 4 of wire is wound round the sheath 3 as shown, a flap 5 of the sheath turned back, and the rest of the sheath is opened out into a trumpet-shaped collar 3a. One end of a wire 7 is soldered tc the sheath 3, passed through the slit in the sheath and wound closely over the insulation 2. The collar 3a is then hammered on to the winding. Specifications 181,796, 255,033, and 268,271, [all in Class 38 (i), Electric couplings &c.], are referred to.
