364,476. Galvanic batteries. EVER READY CO. (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., Hercules Place, Holloway, London, and SPETTIGUE, R. H., Trewenna, The Causeway, Potters Bar, Middlesex. April 30, 1931, No. 12810. [Class 53.] A depolarizer particularly for dry batteries and batteries of the Leclanche type consists of a mixture of a manganese oxygen compound, a conducting substance such as graphite or carbon together with silica gel or colloidal silica. In an example the mixture consists of 80 parts of manganese peroxide, 20 parts of graphite and 1 part of silica gel. The silica gel acts as a gas absorbent.
