[Class 52 (v).] A stand for displaying a book or other article f comprises a blank or its equivalent having backwardly folded parts b, a symmetrical aperture a in which the article is located being formed across the rearwardly inclined fold e in such a manner that the article itself may serve as a locking means for the device. The edges g of the opening may be arranged vertically as shown, or inclined rearwardly ; they may also meet at the top in the fold e instead of forming the upper lip c. More than one aperture may be formed in each fold, or a number of folds, each having an aperture, may be provided ; in one such construction the device takes a pyramidal form, the cross section of which is a five-pointed star, the apertures in this case being formed across the five outstanding edges. If a box or the like is to be displayed, the apertures may be formed so as to keep the lid open in the display position. An additional member carrying advertising matter may be incorporated, being either formed integrally with the device, mounted within the display aperture, or arranged to engage a pair of slots lying in a vertical plane and extending across the top of the fold e. In a further modification, the article is supported on an integrally formed shelf which is hinged at d and is provided with a slot which engages the base of the opposite edge g. The displayed articles may consist of collapsable dummies or printed representations, which may be permanently attached to the display devices. Rigid boards b, hinged by fabric or the like at e, may be employed.
