[Classes 36 and 38 (i).] The electric connection to an electrically-heated steam generator is made through an auxiliary chamber 6 constructed to withstand the full pressure of the boiler and having two lead-in insulators 5, 7 so that if an insulator is broken the working of the boiler is not checked. The insulators may be staggered or the upper one may be mounted in the side of the chamber 6 to facilitate access to the lower insulator when the top plate of the chamber is removed. A flexible lead or disconnectible coupling connects the two bushings. The chamber 6 has a steam supply pipe 8, a manometer 10, and an exhaust or drain outlet 11.
