Kettles.-An electrically-heated kettle formed of earthenware or other non- metallic insulating- material has in its wall a boss b comprising two separate cells c adapted to receive the upper ends of two carbon or other electrodes g and the adapter ])lugs i, soldered or otherwise connected to them, the cells being filled up with cement m. The electrodes rest on footinas k at the bottom of the vessel. Their upper ends may be coated with copper. A grid p is arranged beneath the lid opening to prevent interference with the electrodes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 119,474 (as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), [Class 39 (iii), Heating by electricity].
