[Class 38 (ii)] To dry-out a transformer or other electrical apparatus on site, after removal of the oil, the vacuum-tight casing 2 is partially or wholly evacuated, and steam, heated water or oil or other heating medium is circulated through specially provided pipes 3 at the level of thebottom of the apparatus, to bring the plant to the boiling point of water under the reduced pressure. Jacketting on the casing at or extending to the level of the bottom of the apparatus may replace the immersed pipes 3, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown).
