Addition to 347,374, [Class 110 (iii).] A rotor for a reaction steam or gas turbine which is built up of unbored discs welded to one another at their peripheries, a s described in the parent Specification, is formed so that a cooler disc p embraces a ring portion z<1> of a hotter disc V to relieve the weld from unequal expansion stresses. The other rings q, r, s, &c. each likewise embraces hotter preceding rings p, q, r, &c. The working- fluid flows in the direction of the arrow.
