Abstract

362,646. Apparatus for washing drinking vessels and the like. COOMBE, M. H., TOMLINSON, T. W., and WATSON, D., 47, Blackett Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Nov. 20, 1930, No. 34978. [Class 138 (i).] Drinking vessels and the like are washed internally and externally by means of rotary brushes fed with water and driven by an electric motor. In the apparatus shown, a hollow spindle h fed with water from a pipe a is driven by gearing g, f from an electric motor in a casing a. The spindle carries an internally-operating brush p and arms r supporting external brushes s. The brushes are mounted in a container m connected by a pipe x with a second container m<1> also having a corresponding set of rotary brushes and hollow spindle similarly driven. The containers m, m<1> may have differently sized brushes for acting on different sized articles. The brushes S are detachably mounted on reduced portions r<1> of the arms r, and maintained in position by nuts s<1> engaging screwthreaded portions of the arms.
