Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 5, 1934]. [Class 138 (i)] [See also Group VI] A machine for cleaning eating utensils, vegetables, &c., comprises a detachable container for the articles to be washed, the container being mounted so that it can be tilted to enter any one of a number of containers provided with washing liquid, and being arranged for rotation in any position. In the construction shown, two tanks 3, 4 containing, respectively, cleansing liquid and rinsing water, are separated by a partition 2 which supports a pivotally-mounted casing 7. Intermeshing bevel wheels 6, 9 are carried respectively, by shafts 5, 8 mounted on the casing, the shaft 5 being adapted to be driven through gearing, by an electric motor 10. The shaft 8 is detachably secured to a basket 12 in which the articles to be cleaned are placed. Fixed to the casing 7 is a shaft 22 provided with a handle 21, whereby the basket may be caused to take up one of three positions, viz., horizontal as shown or tilted so as to be partly immersed in the liquid in container 3 or in container 4. In the horizontal position the articles are dried as the basket is rotated. More than two containers 3, 4, may be provided.
