Abstract

362,253. Pottery manufacture. SCHLINDENBUCH, R. H., 25, Svecova, Prague. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5793. Convention date, May 17, 1930. [Class 87 (i).] A method of ornamenting porcelain or terracotta consists in coating the entire surface with paint, working out the broad outline of a design by a cedar-wood stylus, removing the paint where necessary by a mop of elder pith, drying the remaining paint, and then filling in the details of the design on the dried surface which may be recoated with paint made up with a sugar solution containing oxgall, the details being finished by removal of this second coating by a finely-pointed sponge tuft. The paint may be made up with copaiba balsam and petroleum and may be fixed by heating in a muffle.
