[Class 56] [Also in Group X] A method of decorating pottery, glass, and like articles consists in applying a mat pattern in dry or semi-dry colour by means of a ceramic transfer, firing, applying a coating of bright gold, silver, platinum or other metallic solution or liquid coloured enamel over and around the mat pattern, and again firing, so as to produce a decoration in which the original mat pattern shows as a dull area on the contrasting bright surface of the metal or enamel. Ordinary decorative colouring may be applied to the article before the first firing.
